STRUCTURAL GLASS WORKS

The facade construction of buildings is as important as its structure. Even though it is fragile, glass could be the greatest structural material known to man. Architects love glass because it does not obstruct a view or visually interrupt a room. It is one of the most versatile and oldest materials in the building industry. Transparency, Strength, Heat Resistivity, Workability, Recyclability, and Energy Efficiency etc. are the main properties of the glass, which in fact makes it as one of the suitable materials for façade and structural works. Many of them are using the glass for structuring because it is cost effective and adding beauty to any buildings. While constructing the facade, the geographical and climatic conditions of the area where the building is located, purpose of the building, design of nearby buildings etc. should be taken into account. Different methods like Structural Glazing, Curtain Walling, Spider Glazing etc. are available to wrap a building with glass. In Specula, we are mainly undertaking the structural glass works like Structural Glazing, Curtain Wall, Spider Glazing and Shop Facades.

We Specula Exteriors and Interiors are highly skilled professionals who have done works in any level of façade building. We are also having an immense experience on the field of architectural glass works in developed countries like Saudi Arabia and United Arab Emirates. We always focus on the quality other than the cost because it can only last longer. Also, we always rely on the safety of the customers and employees as the glass is very fragile and cause problems to both customers and employees. We are using the high-quality materials for your projects, in which we use Saint-Gobain, Asahi, and Guardian Glass and for the accessories we are using Dorma, EBCO, Ozone, Olive Etc.

    Structural Glazing:

    Structural Glazing
Structural Glazing is one of the most cost-effective contemporary solution for Glass facade construction. Under this system glass is structurally glazed with the help of Silicone sealant to outside surface of the aluminium frame resulting in a flush external finish. Consisting of glass that is bonded to a structure without the use of continuously gasket Aluminium. Structural glazing can be used to create huge glass installations with minimal obstruction. There are many benefits to using structural glass within a building, and perhaps the most compelling is the increase of natural light in our domestic and professional spaces. Throughout our evolution, humans have relied on daylight to regulate and enhance our circadian rhythms, and it has become clear that natural light is a vital part of our overall wellbeing. The time we spend in artificially lit or gloomy environments has a clear impact on our sleep quality, productivity and happiness.

    Curtain Wall:

    Curtain Wall
Curtain Wall System is one of the elements of facade technology in high rise buildings which is a thin, usually aluminium-framed wall, containing in-fills of glass, metal panels, or thin stone. A curtain wall is an outer covering of a building. It is the skin of the building. It is also called Hanging wall. The name derives from the idea that the wall is thin and hangs like a curtain on the structural frame.
Before steel and reinforced concrete became common building materials, a building’s facade typically supported the load of the whole structure. One major advantage of today’s curtain wall is that it can be constructed from much lighter materials like glass, which allows for the filtration of natural light into the building. In addition to preventing air and moisture from entering the building, curtain walls can also act as a fire stop, slowing or preventing the spread of fire between floors of the building.

    Spider Glazing:

    Spider Glazing
Spider Glazing is the only option available for the larger opening exterior elevations and entrance, especially of commercial buildings. It is the technology where specially designed stainless-steel fixings are used to absorb all the static and dynamic loads like weight of glass, wind loads etc. and distribute them to the support structure.
Spider Glazing is a bolted glass assembly, which secures the glazing to a support structure by means of articulated point-fixings. fully spider fitting frameless glass curtain walls, connect glass together in an open space using various types of light/heavy steel structures via various types of spider fitting members to form flexible and unobstructed glass facade. In this way, fully spider fitted glass walls maintain the safety of aluminium alloy frame glass curtain wall. They also eliminate the disadvantages of the aluminium alloy frame in the structure and restrictions from construction structures.
As a result, they provide unobstructed view as a whole, neat, bright and integrated with such advantages as safety, practicality and artistic taste thus becoming a vogue for modern construction and decorations.
Due to the location of joints inside the building made it possible to create continuous glazing of facades of shops, shopping malls and high-rise residential and administrative buildings are not separated by wide steel profile supporting frame. This is the main advantage of spider systems, to ensure such widespread popularity of this method of glazing.

    Shop Front or Facades:

    Shop Front or Facades
Frameless glass shop fronts are a popular choice for offices, shops and many prestigious buildings alike. This type of entranceway is the preferred installation when the image of the building and the business is incredibly important. Frame-less glass doors are appreciated for perfect finish, long functional life and easy maintenance. It includes fixed panels and swing or sliding doors which are operated manually or automatically.
Glass is shiny and eye catching, sleek and modern. It portrays a sense of sophistication, elegance and competence. Its transparency allows an infinite array of design possibilities from within. Product displays work well, as do mannequins for clothing, or print campaigns that can be hung behind the glass panels.
